Ahjo supports socially significant initiatives on a pro bono basis, one of which is Prometheus-leirin tuki ry. The organization arranges coming-of-age camps for young people without religious affiliation, and their popularity is at an all-time high. Unfortunately, each summer hundreds of youths are left without a place. To address this, we designed a fundraising campaign to help ensure that every young person has the opportunity to attend.
Challenge
Protu (Prometheus Camps Support Association) is a nationwide youth organization whose mission is to secure the possibility of coming-of-age camps for non-religious youth. Demand for these camps has grown rapidly, but capacity cannot keep up. The biggest bottleneck is the lack of trained camp leaders.
At the same time, looming government budget cuts threatened to further strain Protu’s funding, making donations more essential than ever.
Solution
We placed the fundraising need and its purpose at the heart of the campaign, creating the hashtag #CampForEveryone (#ProtuleiriJokaiselle). The target was set at €10,000 — enough to provide free training for ten new camp leader teams, enabling 200 additional camp spots in summer 2025.
To bring the message to life, we activated Protu’s broad community and elevated youths’ personal experiences as powerful storytelling across channels. Stories were shared through social media videos, while community members were encouraged to tell their own through Instagram templates. These authentic voices clearly demonstrated the importance of the fundraising goal.
The campaign also appeared at the World Village Festival, in newsletters sent to parents, and in post-camp feedback surveys.
Results
Within just three months, the campaign raised €14,441 — surpassing the goal and breaking all previous fundraising records for Protuleirit. Campaign posts performed significantly better than Protu’s average social media content, with donation spikes directly linked to posting activity.
